Diane Hodgson

Diane Hodgson has read hundreds of children’s picture books over the years in her varied roles as mother, elementary school teacher, and librarian, and has always been awed by the power that books have to teach kindness and compassion. After so much reading, she decided it was time to write her own book—a book that beautifully depicts the values of acceptance and friendship. Intended for children from kindergarten to grade three, Birds of the Same Feather has an anti-bullying, pro tolerance theme that will be easily understood and appreciated by its target audience. Diane lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband, Freddy, and daughters Megan and Ashley—who provided the book’s illustrations. The book’s main character of Bobo is based on the family’s pet cockatiel, also, of course, named Bobo.
